3964453-unnamedThe Nerds didn’t have time for the Weekly Comic Book Review in their normal broadcast.  So what better to do than make it into a Nerd Show DLC!

The Nerds talk about the new book out by IDW Publishing, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover with The Ghostbusters issue #1.  Does it read like fan fiction like so many crossovers that have come before?  Which incarnation of the Ninja Turtles are they using?  Does issue #1 leave you with a desire to move on to issue #2?

How does pacing rate versus other books that The Nerds have reviewed in the past?  Will any of The Nerds move on to issue #2?

28150L_zpse7886257The Nerds sift through the Marvel and D.C. cinematic universes, and both T.V. universes from both Marvel and D.C.  Marvel is linking the two together while D.C. is keeping them separate.  With Marvel’s success, why would D.C. make the decision to keep their properties separate?  Could D.C. be lacking a singular vision or the courage to include the TV and cinematic universes?

portrait_incredibleMarvel held a press conference this past week releasing their slate of movies through May 2019.  Chief among the titles, was the release of the Captain America 3 title, “Civil War.”  The premise of Marvel’s Civil War is very interesting.  So The Nerds debut their first political debate.  Ben and Kristi argue in favor of the Super Hero Registration Act (siding with Iron Man from the book).  Glenn and Thaddeus argue against the Super Hero Registration Act (siding with Captain America from the book).  It is a bit less formal than a normal debate but exciting to listen to nonetheless!

"Pilot"The Nerds review the television premiere of “The Flash.”  Having met Barry Allen in a previous episode of Arrow, how does he make the transition to his own series?  Is The Flash strong enough to carry his own series?  How true do they stay to his origin story?  Which villain does he fight in this premiere episode?

redbox-squareA recent story caught Glenn’s eye.  Redbox’s online digital service recently folded up shop.  However, it’s DVD sales are still going strong.  Which raises the question of digital vs. “hold in your hand.”  Digital service is offered by the movie, comic book, and gaming industries.  It’s gaining ground fast.  Will digital overtake physical copies of material in our life time?  The Nerds tackle this ever evolving trend.

STK649892In the Weekly Comic Book Review, The Nerds take a look at Avengers & X-Men: Axis #1.  The Red Skull is back, bigger and badder than ever before.  He has the mental abilities of Charles Xavier and loves to hold a grudge.  With two teams with such large rosters, could pacing become an issue?
